it's quite possible i, along with many others am a huge australian french and saunders fan. i have pretty much every DVD i can get my hands on, and have watch every sketch on youtube. i wish french and saunders would come to australia, if not, i hope hope hope this dvd comes out in region 4 DVD so i can buy it!

Marvellous news but I hope it's MORE than simply the 1-6 series... as in, Christmas specials and how about the live show from the late 80s? That's not available at all anymore. 9 discs? Potentially 3 discs of extra stuff? Assuming 1-6 fits on one disc each (which it should). I notice the release has now moved to March, though. £53 online for pre-order. How exciting!

OF COURSE I FIND THIS OUT THE MORNING AFTER I BUY MY FIRST F&S DVD'S!!

Alas! I have longed for this day! my 'at the movies' & best of' are worn out and are'nt really the best of anyway - I cant wait!!!

I was considering buying the region 1 version from Amazon and even a purchasing a multi region player just so I could watch, but now series 1-6 at £53 - bargain!!

I would also love to see some extras and bloopers, I love it when these 2 f**k up - hilarious, the live shows would be an extra special treat, my vids (yep vids) are completely worn out - DVD please!

I have wished and hoped for this day for years! Finally I can bin all those awful recordings I made on VHS in the early 90's. From my early fascination at 12 to my now 32 years and on..... I will always be your number one fan :-)

I just wish to echo Markham Lane's comment! Goodbye to my box full of battered and bruised VHS recordings of the past 20 years of French and Saunders. I have waited a long time for this moment!

After all these years, the wait is finally over!! I can't wait to relive classic sketches such as Gypsy Cup Of Tea - 'Do you remember Mario Lanza?' lol. Think I'll need to book time off work and watch them all in one go!!

I am worried that music clearance is going to be a MINEFIELD - and there will be lots of cuts to edit out use of songs over the years. (not parody/pastiche songs, they can get away with that)

Will the French have the opportunity to play these DVD's on their old VCR's ? ... in French too ?

I purchased the 6 disc set from Amazon US a year back, and was disappointed to find that each series was a "best of" and didn't include each full episode. I loved all the Xmas and specials that were included but long to see some of the 'not so mainstream' skits that I remember so fondly that were cut out of these discs. Does anyone here know if this set to be released in March 08 will include full episodes from each season or will it just be the same as the US box set?

We haven't seen any F&S (do-bedoo-be-doo) on free-to-air TV in Australia since the Titanic special :(
Alas, one has had to resort to importing the DVDs from America to get one's fix (and the taped videos from the '80s and '90s).
I might have to celebrate with a Hoeb Noeb (that's Swedish for Hob Nob). :p

it used to say 9 discs now it's 6 and also no there isn't any specials because in the series alltogether there is 45 episodes plus the specials that there are 13 of so there are 54 eps alltogether but still its all we can get are hands on well it's the box with most stuff on it but anyway i work at a company where they make dvds and i can make any dvds i want so i might make a dvd called french and saunders the specials with all 13 on

I got the boxset yesterday and I love it!! It would be better if it had the specials and maybe some special features. Maybe their next dvd venture should be a dvd with all of their outtakes from all french and saunders series. That would be amazing!!!!! I love French and Saunders and can't wait to see them in April!!

Yes, we're all a bit sad that it's only six DVDs and not nine (and no special features), but I'm sure my "complete series 1-6" DVDs aren't quite complete...
I know the inquiry is in the news at the moment, but wasn't there a sketch in the "Birds Of A Feather" kitchen where Princess Diana "really had it all..."?

I can't wait - I love the first series with that old theatre with about 6 people in the audience and the 'hot hoofers'!

Does it have the 'canned laughter sketch' with Felicity Kendal where they are 'filming a sit-com' and Kendal gets no laughs or reaction and the canned laughter is on full force for all of Jenifer's bad one liners?

Does anyone know where the Titanic sketch is? i've watched all of the 6 discs (got them last week) and itsnot there- i thought it was series 4 but nope. i was gutted- its my favourate one.

simon- not sure about the kendall one - that's the take off of noel edmonds sketch mr blobby- i think the one with the canned laughter operated by dawn is with helen mirron when she wants to have a go at comedy and yes that's on there!

The Diana "got it all" sketch in the kitchen, yes, I loved that one and it's NOT on the discs!!! I think it's seen in the scene selection just before the dawn sailing around the world sketch, but doesn't play. Such a shame! Hoping for a specials collection soon! Off to see em live soon too, YAY!

It's on sale here in Australia too and it's ab fab! Best comedy duo since Pete and Dud. Pity about the missing Xmas/Easter/Comic Relief specials, but let's hope a supplementary volume comes out for those.
And I'll be looking out for Series Seven on DVD too in due course, even if it bombed with the average moronic viewer......
